Xbox Games Showcase 2023: A Galactic Blast of New Games for Xbox Fans
Microsoft held its Xbox Games Showcase 2023 on June 11, revealing a slew of new and exciting games coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. From sci-fi epics to fantasy adventures, from racing simulators to action shooters, there was something for everyone in the showcase. Here are some of the highlights from the event:
Starfield
One of the most anticipated games of the year, Starfield is Bethesda Game Studios’ first new IP in over 25 years. Set in a vast and immersive space opera universe, Starfield lets you create your own character and explore the galaxy as you wish. You can customize your ship, join factions, discover secrets, and shape your own destiny. Starfield is launching on September 6, exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Forza Motorsport
The next installment in the acclaimed racing franchise, Forza Motorsport is a stunning showcase of speed and realism. Built from the ground up for Xbox Series X|S, Forza Motorsport features ray tracing, 4K resolution, 120 FPS, and dynamic weather and lighting. You can race on iconic tracks, customize your cars, and compete with other players online. Forza Motorsport is coming on October 10, exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
The sequel to the critically acclaimed Senua’s Sacrifice, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is a dark and visceral action-adventure game that explores the themes of psychosis and Norse mythology. You play as Senua, a warrior who embarks on a harrowing journey to confront a god of death. The game features stunning graphics, intense combat, and a captivating story. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is launching in 2024, exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
The first major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty adds a new story arc, new characters, new locations, and new gameplay features to the dystopian RPG. You play as V, a mercenary who gets involved in a conspiracy involving a mysterious hacker group called Phantom Liberty. The expansion features Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, who guides you through the cyberpunk world. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is coming on November 19, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
Star Wars: Outlaws
A new Star Wars game from Respawn Entertainment, the creators of Titanfall and Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars: Outlaws is a third-person action game that lets you play as a bounty hunter in the Outer Rim. You can explore different planets, hunt down targets, upgrade your gear, and interact with other players online. Star Wars: Outlaws is coming in 2024 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC.
Fable
The long-awaited return of the beloved fantasy RPG series, Fable is a reboot that takes you to a whimsical and magical world of Albion. You can create your own hero or villain and shape your own story through your choices and actions. You can also explore a vast open world full of secrets, quests, creatures, and humor. Fable is coming soon for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
These are just some of the games that were announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023.
