The monoblock chair is a lightweight polypropylene chair that is usually made of white and is often described as the most common plastic chair in the world. The name is derived from mono- ("one") and block ("black"), meaning that a dummy in a single object is a single piece. In 1946 the Canadian designer D.C. Based on Simpson's original designs, variants of the one-piece plastic chair were produced in the 1970s with the Albert Group and the Crossfilix Group. They were inspired by Joe Colo's Add Universal 4867 design.
